After an enforced break in 2020, the FIA European Truck Racing Championship returns to Belgium this weekend for round five of the 2021 season, which has seen plenty of action and close racing so far.
Hungarian driver Norbert Kiss, who scored 4 victories so far, currently sits on top of the rankings with a marginal lead of three points over second-placed Sascha Lenz, who took the victory in race 4 at Most.
Adam Lacko, who scored two podiums in his home race at Most two weeks ago, will be looking get on the top spot and close the gap to Kiss and Lenz.
T Sport Bernau driver Antonio Albacete has a good record at Zolder, having won there twice in the past. He scored a podium at Most and will be hungry for more.
Jochen Hahn, who sits fifth in the standings, had a tough Sunday at Most where he suffered a retirement in race 4. Hahn however has a solid track record at Zolder with several wins over the last few years.
Fellow IVECO S-Way driver Steffi Halm, who’s only two points behind Hahn, had a mixed weekend in Most with a retirement on Sunday. Steffi won at Zolder in 2018, showed a great performance at the season opener in Hungary and will be looking to get into the mix for the podium.
André Kursim has very fond memories of Zolder after taking his first ever FIA ETRC wins there in 2017. The Don’t Touch Racing driver scored a victory in Most and will be trying to repeat his success this weekend.

GOODYEAR CUP BATTLE IS ON
The battle for the GOODYEAR Cup continues, as several drivers fight it out for supremacy in the quest for the title.
Buggyra Racing’s young gun Téo Calvet leads the standings, after he took three wins on his team’s home circuit at Most. British racer Shane Brereton has also won three races so far this season and sits in second, only six points behind the French driver.
Fellow British racer Jamie Anderson scored a win in the opening round at the Hungaroring, but has since struggled finding his feet with the new truck. Anderson showed encouraging pace at Most, scoring a podium, and he’s currently third in the Goodyear Cup standings.
After a strong season start at Hungary, where he took three podiums, Tankpool24 driver Steffen Faas had a bit of a mixed weekend at Most and will be looking to get back into the mix with the front runners.
Aliyyah Koloc collected 22 points over the team’s home race weekend at Most and currently sits in fifth in the Goodyear Cup standings.
Clemens Hecker took points in all four races at Most last weekend and is in sixth in the overall standings.
Tom O’Rourke will be behind the wheel of the MV Commercial MAN again in Zolder. The British driver gave his ETRC debut at Most where he scored 15 points over the weekend.
A familiar face will line up on the grid in Zolder, as Spaniard Luis Recuenco joins the field this weekend. Recuenco last raced for a full season in the ETRC in 2019, where he finished third in the Promoters cup.
The action from Zolder will be streamed live across the ETRC channels this weekend starting with Q1 on Saturday.
