ETRA has issued a provisional calendar for the 2020 FIA ETRC season....
- Two race partnership with WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup in Hungary and Slovakia Announced
- New event being worked on for end of June
- Consistency meets Vibrancy in pan-European schedule
The European Truck Racing Championship has announced a provisional nine date calendar for the 2020 season.
Subject to confirmation by the FIA, the new calendar will see a nine date schedule which will span some of Europe’s most challenging and diverse race tracks.
Combining some familiar top class circuits with exciting planned new events, the 2020 FIA ETRC is set to be one of the most memorable and rewarding in many years.
The campaign will start earlier than usual with a major event at the Hungaroring where the FIA ETRC will share the billing with the popular WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup event.
The FIA ETRC and WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup have shared a happy and fruitful alliance before when they collaborated at Slovakiaring in 2018.
The schedule will then move on to Misano in Italy and to the traditional event which sees a huge Italian celebration of Italian trucking culture and business.
The third event of the season will take place at Slovakiaring for the fourth consecutive season. Again, the paddock will be shared with the WTCR FIA World Touring Car Cup community, providing enhanced coverage and television exposure.
A new, unique and exciting fourth round at the end of June is close to being finalised. This date is expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
The traditional jewel in the crown event, the ADAC Truck Grand Prix at Nurburgring, is set for the same weekend as 2019. Over 120,000 fans regularly attended the huge celebration of truck racing and the truck and transport business which also doubles as a spectacular festival.
The Czech Republic is one of the heartlands of the FIA ETRC as well and a return to Autodrom Most at the end starts the usual busy crescendo of events to round off the season.
The triple-header finale of races stays consistent with Circuit Zolder leading in to a back-to-back double header as per 2019.
The penultimate round of the championship is the Le Mans BUGATTI circuit and Circuito Jarama will stay as the venue for the final races of the season.

“At ETRA we have always placed great importance of hitting the right balance of established and popular events with looking at new challenges to work on.
“For 2020 we are delighted to announce an expanded schedule with nine dates planned. One of the dates as yet remain to be confirmed but we expect to sign-off a new race event for the final weekend in June very shortly.
“This will be a pioneering and very interesting race which is sure to capture the enthusiasm and intrigue of teams, partners and race fans all over the world. We expect to reveal the location and further details in the coming weeks and conclude the calendar with a full ratification at the FIA WMSC in December.”
Rolf Werner, Managing Director of ETRA
“There is a great deal of anticipation for the 2020 FIA ETRC calendar. This is because the level and health of the championship has been stabilised and enhanced in recent season since the ETRA was founded and developed.
“Great racing, great competition and some excellent story lines like the advent of the GRAMMER TRUCK CUP, new partners joining the championship and fresh young talents coming in have given added impetus and new vision.
“We have several announcements to come on the final elements of the calendar but it was out intention to share with all the stakeholders and many fans how the 2020 schedule was taking shape.”
