Sascha Lenz has followed in some big family footsteps as his father Heinz-Werner is somehting of a truck racing legend having won the FIA European Cup for Race Trucks in 1997, 1998 and 1999.
Having followed his father around and helped him in his youth, Sascha started competing in the FIA ETRC in 2013 with the SL Truck team he set up along with his father with whom he competed at Nurburgring. That gave him a taste for competition and he went on to take part in many more races in 2014 and 2015 where he became a regular points scorer.
In 2016 Lenz competed in a full season and put in some promising performances, especially at Red Bull Ring (two fourth places) and Most (third) and at Zolder where he scored his best ever result of second place.
In 2017 Sascha returned with his self-run MAN truck and enjoyed a solid season, getting better as the year went on, scoring three podiums and a pole in the last four race meetings.
Last year, the young the 31-year-old German took another significant step forward, taking his maiden win and, above everything, impressed with consistency to finish an excellent fourth in the standings.
